He also said that &#8220;[&#8230;] Instagram deserves all the credit for bringing filters to the forefront. This isn\u2019t about who invented something.<strong> This is about a format, and how you take it to a network and put your own spin on it<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, we are going to analyse what are the features that distinguish the different &#8220;spins&#8221; he talks about.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Snapchat\u00a0includes a <strong>wide range of images and filters,\u00a0<\/strong>something that the new format of\u00a0Facebook app does not have yet.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0Instagram Stories\u00a0allows adding text and emojis on the images.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe class=\"giphy-embed\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/xT4uQz4UirzzOra0zC\" width=\"480\" height=\"264\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Direct Messages<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With Instagram Stories you can have a <strong>private conversation\u00a0<\/strong><strong>while watching a video\u00a0<\/strong>like on\u00a0Messenger<em>.<\/em>\u00a0However, you cannot get &#8220;Likes&#8221; nor comments while the video is being broadcasted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Segmentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0Instagram Stories\u00a0you can segment the public that will watch the video. <strong>If you choose it to be public<\/strong>, your video can be shared and seen by anyone. If you keep it private, only your Snapchat contacts or a specific friend can watch it.<\/p>\n<p><b>Length<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On Snapchat\u00a0you can share videos up to 10 seconds long. They vanish after watching. After you accept, you can record the video you want to share.<\/p>\n<p>After recording, you can edit it. There are not many options at the moment, but you can write on the image and add emojis. Then you can <strong>publish it by clicking on &#8220;ready&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>and your video will upload.<\/p>\n<p>Users will see a <strong>circle around your profile picture,\u00a0<\/strong>which means that you have published a new story that they can see when clicking on your picture.<\/p>\n<p>We know that sharing short videos on social networks is no news, but we are sure that sooner than later the novelty effect will fade away and Instagram Stories enters our daily life, like Snapchat did.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We will see how these two evolve.\u00a0<\/strong>So far you can get hands on with it.
