Snow, the Asian ‘Snapchat’

Long ago were the times when we could count the amount of social networks available with the fingers on one hand. Although it is not necessary to be present in all the networks, it is always a good idea to know about most.

We are not only speaking about the most popular and essential networks for our personal and professional strategies. There are many more that you may know about, or not.

This is the case of Snow. For those of you who have just learned that such a network actually exists, it is a South Korean version of Snapchat.

This app, whose icon looks like some sort of blue cloud, is faring wonderfully in Asia.

Its features are very similar to those of Snapchat, but with small differences.

Just like Snapchat, Snow includes filters for the pictures that are similar to what the little ghost can offer. However, it includes more filters for pictures in real time, not to mention that many of these are adapted to an Asian market, featuring sumo wrestlers or fried chicken with rice.

There are other items, like South Korean pop stars or bottles of a Korean spirit called Soju.

Moreover, private messages last for 24 hours, after which they disappear. For comparison, messages on Snapchat last up to 10 seconds after being opened.

As you can see, there are not many differences, but this app is a great success on the Asian market. It has a strong presence on countries like China, where Snapchat is forbidden, which poses a great advantage for the South Korean app.

Luckily though, we do not have to travel that far to try it. And since we do not want to take sides with anyone, we will download both.
